009 + JUDGE YOUR BROTHER

[This man is in the bar. He's got a drink. He's also got Castiel's device.]

Well, well, well. He's full of surprises, isn't he? Cas, I mean. Like the little angel that could. God only knows how he's gotten himself on a multidimensional boat.

[He looks away from the device and takes a drink, staring into the amber liquid. Then, he looks back.]

I suppose no one has an update on his plans for his murdered brother, do they? I just know it couldn't have all ended well.

Meanwhile, I'm going to take this opportunity to enjoy the finer pleasures of life.

[Balthazar snorts.]

A desire.

Is it such a strange question? Need is a form of pain; the malcontent's duty is to help souls in pain.

[At this, Fenric gets a full-on eyeroll.]

Amazing. I've returned from oblivion onto a multidimensional boat in the middle of my slightly mad brother's search for self-redemption and now an ape is trying to take care of me.

[he pours himself some more whiskey and stares at it.]

It's never boring with you anymore, is it, Cas?

[Disdain washes right over Ferinc; the Malcontent being the order of perverts and untouchables leaves you very hard to insult.]

Life is full of wonders, Cousin. Even life after life has new experiences. Isn't that something? [He sips his drink, looking serene.]

[personal profile] screwinghimwould 2012-04-01 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It certainly is something.

[He refills Fenric's glass.]

What comes after, for an angel?

[personal profile] screwinghimwould 2012-04-01 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing. Angels don't have souls.

Peaceful, then.

[He snorts.]

Oblivion isn't peaceful. It isn't anything.

I'd say that existence is by definition stressful. You may not be there to appreciate it, but at least you aren't there to appreciate it.

[It dovetails better with Ferinc's expectation for the afterlife or lack thereof than the standard church line.]

[personal profile] screwinghimwould 2012-04-01 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd rather be stressed and alive than dead and in oblivion.

Well, there's a problem. Obviously it is possible, but getting to a multidimensional barge full of apes... it isn't easy, in a few days.

[personal profile] screwinghimwould 2012-04-01 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
From what I've read of Cas' notes, I thoroughly expect this to be a temporary stay, and then I will be gone.

Likewise. The Chief keeps pretty good records; most of these floods and breaches stop at four days at the most. Occasionally less.

Unfortunately.
